One important aspect of travel, maybe the most important, involves sampling the local cuisine. Here in Northern Spain one of the favorite regional dishes is “pulpo,” or octopus.
You can’t get octopus of this quality anywhere else in the world. How does it taste? Sort of fishy, chewy (especially the little suckers) and spicy if prepared well. I prefer it grilled and heavily spiced. Emphasis on heavily.
If you are ever here you must try it, even just to say you did. But you never know, pulpo may become a new favorite dish and you’ll return home dreaming of Spain and yearning for chewy tentacles for your dinner for years to come.
I'd love to hear your thoughts...
